SportsHour Company
Pledging and Recognition Scheme 2025–27

Launched in 2025, the revamped SportsHour Company Pledging and Recognition Scheme 2025–27 aims to encourage companies and organisations to support children and youth aged 5-17 in accumulating an average of at least 60 minutes of moderate-to- vigorous-intensity physical activity (MVPA60) per day each week. Participating entities pledge to take concrete actions, such as opening up their sports facilities to the public, sponsoring children and youth sports programmes, and integrating physical activity into their corporate social responsibility strategies.

Part 1: Pledge

Companies were invited to make a pledge on our website, committing their support to children and youth’s sports participation. By pledging, they not only promised to contribute towards promoting active lifestyle among children and youth aged 5-17, but also demonstrated their endorsement of the goal of “MVPA60HK Indicator”—to double the percentage of children and youth who engage in MVPA60, increasing it from the current 8% to 16% by 2030. There were a total of 76 pledges from companies and organisations received this year.

Part 2: Recognition Scheme

Pledged companies were recognised through three award categories: the “Youth Sports Supporter Merit Award”, the “Youth Sports Supporter Excellence Award”, and the “Best Practice Showcase Award”. Over 30 companies and organisations were honoured this year, with 7 of them receiving the “Best Practice Showcase Award”. Recipients will also receive the “SportsHour Company” logo, highlighting their efforts and achievements in promoting an active lifestyle among local children and youth.

Professional Judging Panel

We were honoured to welcome a distinguished panel of five judges to assess the “Best Practice Showcase Award”, each bringing expertise in sports leadership, public health, corporate strategy, people and culture development, and governance. As the official judging panel, their collective insights ensured a fair, insightful, and comprehensive evaluation of the entries.

  1. Youth Sporting Hours are defined as the number of hours that youths aged 5-17 engage in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA)
  2. The applicants will first be sorted according to the number of youth sporting hours generated. Then, marks will be given according to the ranks. The champion will receive 50 marks. The 1st runner up will receive 50- (50 / number of applicants) x (the rank of the applicant-1) marks. Assuming there are 25 applications, the 1st runner up will receive 48 marks and the 2nd runner 46 marks.
No double counting is allowed. For example, if company A has claimed the sporting hours for Event X, company B as the venue partner will not be allowed to claim those hours
